The Matrix Online Update 36Return to TopSubmit News!Visit Our Forums
Patch News - 11:00 PM EDT | Posted By: Brekkee

Featured Changes

  • The Matrix Online Story Continues in Episode 2.3!
The 2.3 Cinematic and Storyline missions are now available in game.

  • New CCR UI
The /ccr system now uses an in-game UI window rather than opening an in-game browser.

Changes and Improvements

  • Logic Daemon 2.0 now logically uses Hacker attacks.
  • The key to trigger slash commands is no longer rebindable from the Advanced Key Bindings window. Players that have already rebound the slash command key will need to reset to default bindings using the UI if they wish to change it again.
  • Items in the Code Archive now autostack when uploaded. Note: Any items moved to the Code Archive from within the Loading Area must be stacked manually--they will no longer autostack after jacking in and returning to the Loading Area.
  • The dungeon Boss Lupine now drops a more proportioned quanity of male and female versions of the Blackwolf Coat.
  • Escorted NPCs in the Chef mission "Bedtime Reading" are now tougher.
  • Players can now use /sit or /stand to stand back up from a seated position.

Bug Fixes

  • Sneak, Concealment, Escape and Evasion, Disguise, and Invisibility now deactivate aura abilities when used. (Fixes exploit.)
  • Getting Stunned by Devastation Field now sets a 30-second Stun-immunity timer. Players with an active immunity timer cannot be stunned by Devastation field, but the attack can still hit and cause damage.
  • Zen Master will no longer be loaded in to memory on any character.
  • Details on Silver Dragon gang-members now correctly lists their location as Furihata.
  • The ambush at the beginning of the mission "Free Music" should now be made up of appropriate level enemies.
  • When the ambush NPCs in the Chef mission "Bedtime Reading" are defeated, the escorted NPCs no longer die.
  • Pandora's Box mission bug that caused all NPCs to drop mission keys has been fixed. (Bug caused player Inventories to fill up so they couldn't carry final items.)
  • Bug making it impossible for a player to leave a mission team even when it was disbanded has been fixed.
  • City courthouse now appears in the correct location on the Atlas.

The Matrix Online Update 35 Return to TopSubmit News!Visit Our Forums
Patch News - 11:00 PM EDT | Posted By: Brekkee

Update 35 is currently scheduled for the week ending Friday, September 16, 2005

Featured Changes

  • SOE Chat Implemented (Phase 1)
The first phase of SOE Chat has been added to The Matrix Online. Players can now chat with players across server worlds and players in other SOE games.

Players won't see any difference in their communication with other players on the same server: /tells, /ignore, and their buddy lists will still show only other players names. MxO players on other servers will display as server.playername and players in other games will display as game.server.playername.

This naming convention affects all chat commands: If you leave off the game and server name, the system will assume you're addressing a "local" player. For example to add Eggman to your buddy list, you would use
    • /friend Eggman if Eggman is a player on your server
    • /friend Vector.Eggman if Eggman is a player on Vector and you're not, or
    • /friend SWG.Bria.Eggman if Eggman is an SWG player on the Bria server.

Players will also notice these changes in their buddy lists.

Importing Old Buddy/Ignore Lists: To import your old buddy and ignore lists, type /importcontacts on the command line. Because players won't appear in the SOE chat system until they have logged on after the update, you may not get all your contacts the first time you use this command. If you notice you're missing some contacts in your list, wait for a while and use the /importcontacts command again.

Please note: The /importcontacts command refreshes your list from the old database, so any players you remove from your buddy or ignore list will be added back in if you use it again. Try to wait until after your list is complete before making any deletions from your lists.

  • Activity Facilitator Consumables
Activity Facilitator 1.0 and 2.0 are now available in game. These new consumable items can be activated at any time (even while stunned or pacified) and will clear all stun and pacify states. However, your immunity timer will be reduced by 1/2 at the time of activation.
    • Activity Facilitator 1.0 has a 15-minute cooldown timer.
    • Activity Facilitator 2.0 has a 10-minute cooldown timer.
    • Both consumables share a 10 minute family cool down timer.

Bug Fixes

  • Tiger's Cloth is now required for both the male and female versions of the Tiger's Acolyte Gi.
  • Shadow Jackets now grant bonuses to the Stealth attribute and no longer grant the Sneak Ability.
  • Stackable items will be added to a stack of the same item already in a player's Inventory during a secure trade.
  • Phoenix Gang bosses now spawn with the correct names.

Lending a Helping Hand In the Wake of Hurricane KatrinaReturn to TopSubmit News!Visit Our Forums
Official News - 11:00 PM EDT | Posted By: Brekkee

SOE Posted the following request on their website:
Hurricane Katrina has left an incredible wake of destruction across the south. Sony Online Entertainment would like to ask you to take a moment to make a donation to the American Red Cross in order to help alleviate some of the suffering.

In EverQuest II we have added the /donate command, type in /donate to be taken to the American Red Cross's Hurricane 2005 relief page. For those members of SOE Communities in other games, you can contribute using this link, American Red Cross. The American Red Cross will process your donation and make sure that it is put to maximum use to help those whose lives have been affected by the hurricane.

Additionally, for our 13,000+ players actually in the affected areas, we will be suspending billing until such time as they are able to play again. In addition, any items or structures in any of our games, which decay over time, will be preserved until the user's next login.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.

The SOE Family
